NuvaRing is a monthly method of combined hormonal contraception that consists of a thin and flexible ring that is inserted into the vagina. Each ring releases hormones (an oestrogen and a progestogen) gradually and is intended for one use only. Once inserted, the ring is left in place for 3 weeks before removal and there is a 1-week gap before a new ring is used.
