Vaginal administration
NuvaRing is inserted directly into the vagina, which allows for low, steady and continuous dosing and results in stable serum concentrations of etonogestrel and ethinylestradiol.1 The delivery of hormones afforded by vaginal administration has been shown to be more consistent than delivery via the contraceptive patch and certain combined oral contraceptives.10
